  just feeling the pain

  long story, will get to the end.

  did it all as a jw, married a pioneer, both multi generation witnessese, da ourselves 15 years ago, shunned by all our families and life long friends.

  lost her six years ago to cancer, she made a last minute return for the "love" of her family, so i lost her too.

  Sorry for your losses and the resulting pain.

  It is purely evil the way the WT is able to do this over and over again.

  I hope every loss you have suffered be replaced with unconditional love.

  How do you answer this question??

  ok, i'm now da'd as many of you already know.

  it's so fresh that my stomach turns everytime the subject comes up about religion.

  however, something that does puzzle me a bit.......is how do you answer people when they ask you the question "what religion are you?

  People often get confused looks on their faces when they ask me and get my answer.

  I hate religion, and do not consider any religion valid if they do not have active charities serving the poor and needy in the world. Religion is man's attempt at godliness.

  However, the reason they are confused is because they may know I am regularly involved with a non denominational church.

  We all have to asnwer that question for ourselves and there was a time that I did not have an answer at all because I was still researching.

  I had to discover the real me, if there was a God- the real God, and where I fit in. That can take awhile. Enjoy the journey.

  i have heard from many people when i would go out in the ministry that "we" witness do not believe in jesus.

  when my mother first heard about me becoming interested in the witness that is what she said.

  ive seen some make that same statement here.

  I also wanted to add;

  It is everyones personal respinsibility to find out what the Bible really teaches for themselves. I am not going to go to a terrorist to find out what the Quran teaches. I'm going straight to the book.

  The Governing Body has been wrong on these things before, how can anyone trust that they are right roday? We have to read Greek and Hebrew dictionary's for ourselves to find out what John 1:1 means and the rest of it. There are many theological commentaries that we can use to get different views before we form our own opinion.

  The Governing Body does not have one member with a theological degree, not one. And the one they quote from is a religion hating athiest that I have exchanged emails with. He is a professor at a University in AZ.

  The GB will write things on their site to make them look good, they use bait and switch methods. They may claim to honor Jesus on their site but you will not find one JW who talks to Jesus, or admits that His Spirit DWELLS in them. The NWT changes the Bible by adding [in union with] instead of dwelling inside.

  1 Timothy 6:13-16 I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate testified the good confession, that you keep the commandment without spot, blameless, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ; which in its own times he will show, who is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

  John 16:13-15 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you. All things whatever the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine, and will declare it to you.

  Romans 8:9-11 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

  Now how can an authentic believer have the Spirit of Christ dwelling inside them, and yet, it is blasphemous to say; "yo Jesus"

  Jesus set up a simple arrangement whereby the individual Christian had direct access to him, there was no provision for another layer of mediation whereby the Governing Body became defacto mediator

  You got that right.

  Without pasting endless Scriptures that confirm the belief in the Bible of Christ's Deity, here is what I asked;

  If Jesus is the Word of God, whose voice was heard by Israel in the desert?

  When Jesus was on earth we talked to Him, walked with Him.

  When Jesus died He rose from the dead and spoke to people.

  When Jesus rose up into heaven Paul and Stephen spoke to Him.

  Jesus said where two or more are gathered in my name I am there.

  Sooooooooooooo when did it become illegal to TALK to Jesus;

  When the Governing Body decided they wanted to be Jesus.

  Have you ever had acupuncture? What else can I try for high blood pressure?

  i had a bit of a shock last month when, in a routine check-up, my doc told me i had high blood pressure.. i can't remember what the reading was the first time but the next few days it was averaging 150/100.

  not wanting to go on drugs for the rest of my life i decided to look at alternatives.

  there are some chinese clinics in the town where i live so i tried one of those.. they recommended a course of herbal medicine and acupuncture.

  I am the only one in my family that has never had a blood pressure or cholesteral problems even though I am the only one that inherited a genetic blood disease. The real answer is to stop eating anything that comes from an animal, add fresh organic raw veggies and fruit.

  Will You React With Prejudice?

  will you react with prejudice when faced with "absolute truth?

  sometimes, an irrefutable "truth" can be spoken.

  and yet, this statement or fact of "truth" can be glossed over or dismissed or not recognized by the community at large, because of preconceived ideas taught us and engrained in us, from our previous upbringing or training.

  raised in the truth?

  i was just wondering what constitutes as being brought up in the truth.

  my mom was baptized when i was 7 and my dad got dunked when i was 11. right now i don't really consider myself as being fully raised in the truth because even though i've been going to meetings since i was 6 i just slept/doodled through them.

  my mom didn't study with us kids and my dad didn't start the family study until i was 12. i'm turning 20 in a few weeks... i've known life before the truth and it was much bettter, everyone was soo much happier.

  Welcome!

  That old guy was just sick. In the 70's when I was young there was too many sicko's in my congo totally obsessed with sex. I was dragged into the back room once and GRILLED about the sexual practices of my girlfriend.

  As far as wordage, any child taken to meetings and indoctrinated in my book was "raised in it." Babies born in it to me seem to suffer worse, at least my friends did. That fleeting normal childhood before the WT was great. Some don't even have the memory of one birthday party.

  The great thing is; your mind is free. You are here. And there is a beautiful life ahead of you.

  i've been thinking a lot about this lately and i would unhesitatingly say 'yes!'.

  we've had our ups and downs - almost always my fault .

  my god, how our upbringing can affect us!

  Ian, Gregor, you two are what women want! (sorry if I left some of you other sweet guys out)

  I would marry my beloved anytime anywhere, he has brought me so much joy!

  Like some of you I wish he had been my first and only husband. After the WT I was really not ready emotionaly to choose a husband until my 40's!

  My sweetheart married a chronically ill woman, and he has not complained once. In fact he seems very happy, I hope he is. He has brought me so much happiness! Life used to be so hard as a single disabled woman raising a teen.
